Scotland v Morocco – predictions and odds – 2026 World Cup (19/06/2026)

The Scotland and Morocco national teams will go head-to-head at midnight on Friday night into Saturday morning at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, USA, in the second match of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. The start of the World Cup has been positive for both sides, with Scotland beating Haiti and Morocco drawing with Brazil, leaving a very good impression with their performances.
Morocco are the favourites for this clash; against the Canarinha, they were only let down by the lack of a goalscoring striker. Scotland, for their part, raised some doubts in their opening match against the weakest side in the group. However, they know that a point against Morocco or Brazil will see them through to the knockout stages. To achieve this, though, Steve Clarke’s side must raise their game, as otherwise they may struggle against the Moroccans’ dynamism.
‘Final score’ prediction
A closely fought match is expected. Although Morocco’s passing game suggests they will dominate proceedings, their lack of cutting edge in the opposition’s box could prove their undoing. Furthermore, the Scots are very comfortable when they do not have to take the initiative. With players like McGinn, who scored in the win against Haiti, they have what it takes to compete against anyone. A draw is therefore a very likely outcome.
‘Total goals’ prediction
As for a specific market, in this match I’m going to go for the total goals market. Scotland have already shown that their competitive edge lies in being very solid as a unit and conceding very few chances, whilst capitalising on the opportunities they create from set pieces or when the ball falls to their best players. Morocco, for their part, create chances with ease, but lack a centre-forward who can convert all the chances they create into goals. Therefore, the prospect of there being fewer than 2.5 goals in the match is a very interesting option.
‘Create Bet’ Prediction
Finally, when placing our bet, we’ll stick to the line we’ve followed so far by selecting the option that neither team will score. A very evenly matched contest with few goals is expected and, barring an early goal, it seems unlikely that both teams will find the net. What is expected, however, is plenty of set-piece situations. Therefore, we’ll add the option that there will be over 8.5 corners throughout the match.
