Established in 1982 by John Boyle, Boylesports is licensed in Ireland and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission and holds a license issued by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner for the casino.
Boylesports is Ireland’s biggest independently owned bookmaker, with nearly 400 betting shops across Ireland (and the UK). Their website is highly user-friendly and packed full of bonuses and promotions, including a very generous welcome offer worth €100 in total!
If you prefer to play on mobile, an excellent app is available for both iOS and Android.
With over 40 sports to bet on, whether you’re looking to bet on football, horse racing, or even the Gaelic Games, Boylesports has you covered and is well worth a look.
Our team at BetBrothers.ie researched and wrote this review, which includes many expert insights from our team.
Boylesports is available for Irish customers as long as they are at least 18 years old. With over 40 sports and plenty of markets on each event, Boylesports is an excellent choice for bettors.
In 2021, Boylesports Enterprises, the company in which Boylesports offers online betting to UK customers, was fined €3.14 million by the British Gambling Commission for money laundering lapses. As a result, tougher conditions were added to its licence. Including agreeing to continue to review the effectiveness of their anti-money-laundering polices, procedures and controls. Boylesports accepted this fine and agreed to continue to invest in its processes, its people and its systems.
Boylesports has a very generous new user free bet offer and ongoing offers on various sports for existing customers. They often have event-specific offers on various major sporting events. The new user offer is of excellent value, giving you a free bet worth eight times your initial deposit.
The promotions page is extremely user-friendly, with the terms and conditions clearly stated with each offer. You don’t require bonus codes to claim offers; all you need to do is place the required qualifying bet.
No bonus code is needed. Instead, after depositing €10, you need to place a qualifying €10 bet at evens (2.0) or greater, which will automatically qualify for the offer. This bet must be placed within 30 days of opening an account. Within one hour of the bet settling, the Free Bet will automatically be credited to your account, and you will have 7 days to use it.
Winnings from any Free Bet will be credited to your account, but the €80 bonus will be removed. It is what is known as a “stake not returned” Free bet. The good news here is that there are no wagering requirements on winnings from the free bet.
The casino bonus, however, will need to be wagered x5 for a total wagering of €100 before you can withdraw it |(and any winnings are capped at €100).
Boylesports doesn’t offer a no-deposit bonus but does offer a free bet bonus as explained above. There are other Free Bet offers for existing customers, which we will go into more detail below.
Boylesports has a lot of existing user offers.
Price Boost offers are also available daily at Boylesports. At the time of our review, in the Darts, Luke Humphries had been boosted from 7/2 to 9/2 to win the Nordic Masters. There were also price boosts on football, darts, and other sports, although these are mostly found within the specific sports page and not on the promotions page.
During and often in the run-up to most major horse racing meetings, Boylesports will have some sort of promotion running. This can differ from event to event.
Currently, on their site is a rather long offer regarding the Royal Ascot event, which is just over a month away. For the next 4 weeks, customers must place a horse racing €10 bet on 4 of the 7 days of each week. Each day, the type of bet varies. If you manage to do 4 days, you get a €10 Free bet to use at Royal Ascot. If you do this four weeks running, you get €40 of Free bets. In addition, if you place bets on 5, 6, or 7 days each week, the amount of the Free Bet increases further.
This type of event-specific offer you will likely find in the run-up to several major horse race meetings.
There are no permanent mobile-only offers, although an app is available. Occasionally, one-off offers require you to deposit and place the bet via mobile, which is something for existing customers to look out for.
Unfortunately, although Boylesports offers a Loyalty and VIP programme, these are linked to other gaming services offered at Boylesports, not the sports betting side. With the exception of the BoyleXtra program which https://www.boylesports.com/promotions/boyleextra. This programme only counts bets placed in the shop, online bets are not included.
This doesn’t always happen when you join, but you will undoubtedly be asked to verify your account before withdrawing if you are not requested to do so when depositing. This is a relatively straightforward; you will need to upload your national ID, passport or driving license to prove your age and a utility bill or bank statement to prove your address. Failure to do this when asked will likely lead to restrictions on your account. It’s simple to do. You should see a Verify your account banner when you log in, which takes you to a form to fill out and upload the documents. You can also do something similar through email or live chat.
TLS (Transport Layer Security) is used as an extra layer of security, which translates your data in code. The latest firewall and IDS/IPS technology is used in case of any unauthorised access to the Boylesports server. Or in short, your data is in extremely safe hands

If you can’t remember your username, you must enter your mobile number or email address, and it will be sent to you. If you have forgotten your password, click on the forgot password link, and you will need to enter your email and date of birth. This will start the process, and at the end, you will be able to reset your password
If you are concerned that your account has been hacked, you should contact customer services, tell them of your concerns, and follow their Instructions.
If you decide to close your account, you can contact customer services, who will guide you through the closure process.
If your interests are more local, you also won’t be disappointed. GAA is covered heavily at Boylesports. Whether your preference is Gaelic Football or Hurling, you will find odds on daily fixtures and outright markets.
If rugby is your passion, you will find odds on Ireland in the major competitions such as the World Cup or the Six Nations. There is also coverage of the United Rugby Championship, so if you’re a Connacht, Leinster, Munster or Ulster fan, you can bet on them here.
If soccer is your sport, you will find odds on the Irish Premier and First Division.
You can also find odds for all the Irish horse racing meetings
Irish politics, such as the general election and who will be the next Irish President, are also covered at Boylesports.
In addition to the sports mentioned above, Boylesports also covers you if you’re not a sports fan and instead wish to place a bet or something like politics, the UK, US, and Irish all have markets available. There are also other markets for things like the BBC Sports Personality of the year and Love Island. Various others, like I’m a Celebrity, will appear when the show is on. Awards ceremonies such as the Oscars and Baftas are also available to bet on.
There is also a decent Virtual sports section where you will find a few types of horse racing to bet on. There are also greyhounds, football, motor racing, and speedways.
If E-Sports is your thing, it’s well covered here. There are plenty of markets to choose from, and the most popular E-sports to be found here are League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Valorant, Rocket League and StarCraft II
Boylesports homepage initially looks a little busy, and there’s lots of information there, however, navigating it is very simple. There is a main menu on the left with a list of the more popular sports with an A-Z link at the bottom, but the easiest way to find what you’re looking for is just to hover over the A-Z Sports link found on the home page near the top. This brings up an A-Z table of sports. From here, simply click the sport you’re looking for. If you choose football, you then have various options, including searching for matches by day, competition or which odds have been boosted.
You can also click on the in-play link from here, which will bring up matches currently live. Alternatively, you can click on the in-play link from the home page, which will show you all in-play matches for all sports at once.
If you click on a match, in addition to the betting options, you will also see their live betting software, which will give you second-by-second updates on the match. Just remember that it won’t be totally live and will be a few seconds behind what’s happening.
All your favourite betting options are available at Boylesports, whether it’s single, double, treble or acca, all options will appear in your betslip as you add bets to it. The latest type of bet to place is called a bet builder. This also features heavily at Boylesports and is available on several different sports. This allows you to place multiple bets on the same game, such as who will win, how many goals will be scored and who might score them and numerous other options.
You can add bets to your bet slip to find out the combined odds, although if you prefer, you can also use a bet calculator.
Live Streaming is also available, but only for a small number of events. Of course, depending on the time of day and what sports are in play, it will go up and down, but at the time of writing this review, 122 events were available to bet on in play, and 12 had a live stream. We tried out the live stream on an Argentine lower league football match. Although, as you would expect, it had no commentary, the feed ran smoothly and was viewable.
All events have live graphics to follow with real-time updates, and the odds are updated in real time. Of course, there can be slight delays, mainly in bet placement compared to pre-match betting, but they’re only a couple of seconds rather than instant.
Cashing out is available on selected markets. When you place the bet on the bet slip, it will tell you if the option will be available when the game is live. Not all sports have the cash back option, but we found it on football, tennis, rugby, cricket, darts, golf, hurling, Gaelic football, American football, basketball, and baseball.
Most betting options, such as single and double bets, are still available in-play, and even placing accas bets is possible. Unfortunately, placing a bet builder wasn’t shown as an option when a game/match had started.
The bookmaker’s margin is the percentage of profit that they intend to make on any bet. So, the higher the margin, the more the bookmaker makes. This can vary from sport to sport, as we will show below. Firstly, you can see the margin of profit on an Irish Premier League game, a GAA football match, and an NBA game.
As you can see, they are making the smallest profit on the NBA game.
The chart below compares Boylesports’ profit margin with that of other bookmakers. To achieve this, we have simultaneously compared the odds from the same fixture at all three sportsbooks. As you can see, the results are mixed, with Boylesports having the best odds on the Irish Premier League game. 2nd best in the NBA, and although all three are very close Boylesports comes in 3rd best on the GAA-Football
When viewing a match in play, Boylesports will, of course, constantly change the odds as the match situation changes. This is indicated by a flash of green on the odds if they have improved or red if they have shortened.
At Boylesports, odds can be viewed as fractions or decimals. To change the odds, head to your My Account section and click on settings. The option to change the odds display type will appear.
If you wish to calculate your potential profits before placing a bet, you have two options. First, you can use the bet calculator, which can be found on the home page. Second, you can simply add the bets of your choice to your bet slip, and when you enter a stake, it will calculate your profits.
If you wish to cash out your bet before the event ends, you have this option on most bets at Boylesports. When you place the bet it will tell you if the bet will have that option when the game is in-play.
Boylesports offers a decent range of payment methods. The chart below provides a full list of deposit and withdrawal options.
Currently, Boylesports doesn’t accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
Once logged in, you can deposit money into your account. Click on your balance, and the deposit option should appear, click on this. Once you have selected your payment method, enter your deposit amount. The minimum is €5. There are no fees when you deposit or withdraw at Boylesports
Any deposit at Boylesports is instant and should be within your account when you refresh the page. Withdrawals will take longer and vary depending on the method. Other methods, such as bank transfers and Apple Pay (Non Visa Direct) and Visa Debit (Non Visa Direct) will typically take 2-3 days.

Both have all the features of the main website, including depositing, withdrawing, placing bets, live streaming, and participating in promotions. The site itself was redesigned to improve the interface for mobile users. The blue and white colour scheme makes it easy on the eye, and the navigation is user-friendly.
You can set your alert and notification preferences to suit your needs, including being informed of new promotions or updates on wagers you have placed.
The odds on both the website and the app are exactly the same.
You can download the iOS app at the Apple Store and the Android version at the Google Play Store.

If you have any issues with your account, you should check out the help section. If you can’t find the answer there, you should contact customer support using one of the methods above.
Boylesports has a dedicated section for responsible gambling, which can be found in the My Account section.
From here, you have the option to set a Deposit Limit and a Net Deposit Limit, which can be set per day, week, or month. The Net limit will increase with each withdrawal. If you wish to increase either of them, it takes 24 hours to take effect, but any reduction is immediate.
You also have the option to Take a Break for up to 6 weeks. Or you can self-exclude and not be able to access your account for a period ranging from 6 months to 5 years.
The site also has a budget calculator, which will help you determine how much you spend on gambling and how it compares with others. You can also access your Account History, where you can keep track of your previous transactions and bets.
Although it doesn’t have its own test, the Responsible Gambling suggests a Self Assessment test, which will advise you on how safe your gambling is. This can be found here
There is a read more link at the bottom of Responsible Gambling, which takes you to a page that explains all the tools in greater detail. There is also a Help & Advice section with a series of questions to ask yourself; if most are yes, you may have a problem.
Then, there is a list of Responsible Gambling companies that could provide further assistance, including GamCare, Gambling Care, BeGambleAware, Gamblers Anonymous, and Gambling Therapy Helpline.
Finally, there is a list of companies that provide software that blocks access to and play at gambling websites.
Online reviews of Boylesports are mixed. Trustpilot has them rated at 2.8 / 5 based on over 3000 reviews. Although it is worth noting that around 45% of the reviews rate them as five stars. With numerous reviews praising their customer service and quick payout times. 41% are one stars and are mainly based on a couple of common topics. The first is customers complaining that they don’t win on slots. But the more potentially concerning topic is the number of people complaining they were denied the welcome free bet offer as they were told their IP address had been used before to sign up. At Reviews.io, Boylesports had a much higher rating of 4.36 / 5 based on nearly 2700 reviews. The negative reviews again follow the same theme, although there mostly just people complaining about not winning on slots.
Boylesports is usually ranked highly among bookmakers. As recently as June 2025, Irishracing.com ranked Boylesports 2nd in a list of the Top 10 Betting sites available to Irish customers.
Boylesports responds to reviews on Trustpilot, advising the reviewer on what to do to take any complaint further.
We have not found or seen any evidence of Boylesports getting negative reviews due to technical issues.
The slots range includes classic slots, megaways and jackpot slots. Other games include your standard casino table games, Slingo and Instant win games.
Software providers for games include the best in the business, including Barcrest, Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Playtech and NetEnt.
Several of the most popular online slots are available to play, including Big Bass Bonanza, King Kong Cash, Book of Dead Buffalo Blitz and Rainbow Riches.
Boylesports also has an excellent live casino, offering all the games you would expect to see, such as Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Game Shows, and Poker. The main provider is Playtech. The casino is mobile-compatible and, of course, available on both apps. With low stakes, such as €1 on Blackjack and €0.10 on Roulette, it’s perfect for trying out a variety of games.
There are also plenty of existing user promotions, including a free spin promotion similar to the welcome bonus, in that you get free spins based on the wagering. This is valid every Wednesday. There are multiple other promotions, including a game of the day promotion where you can win spins. There are also Tournament, Jackpot and Leaderboard style promotions.
All have various wagering conditions, so reading these in full for each promotion you decide to opt into is essential.
Unfortunately, neither the Casino or Live Casino have a Loyalty or VIP programme. The poker section does have VIP programme, and the Bingo section has a loyalty programme.
The Casino section, as we mentioned already, has tournaments and missions for you to compete in.
Overall, we were very impressed with Boylesports. The website colour scheme is easy on the eye and makes things very clear even on a small screen. Although they may have tried to fit a little too much onto the home page, the A-Z sports link, which turns into a table when you hover over it, means you can easily navigate to the section you need.
We found the sign-up process easy and, once verified, had no issues depositing or withdrawing. The My Account section has all the settings you need to manage your account.
We were also pleased with the wide range of sports in general and, specifically, the inclusion of all the Irish favourites. We were particularly pleased with the large number of betting options on the Gaelic Games.
