Ireland vs Argentina Prediction (Nations Championship) Odds and Bets 06.11.2026

Ireland welcome Argentina to the Aviva Stadium on Friday 6 November for Round 4 of the 2026 Nations Championship. Andy Farrell’s side won two of their three July fixtures, while Los Pumas collected one victory from their opening three matches.
Ireland vs Argentina: Match Preview
Ireland are looking to make home advantage count as the Nations Championship returns to the northern hemisphere.

| Kick-off | 8:10pm Irish time |
| Venue | Aviva Stadium, Dublin |

Ireland have six competition points? No. Their two July victories came against Australia and Japan before a disappointing defeat to New Zealand. Argentina also showed their attacking potential during July, pushing England close after beating Wales. The last meeting between these sides finished 22-19 to Ireland in Dublin in November 2024, suggesting another competitive encounter is possible.
Recent Form and Key Results
Ireland have the better Nations Championship record, but Argentina have actually scored more points across the opening three rounds.
| Recent Nations Championship results | Ireland | Argentina |
|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | Won 33-31 vs Australia | Lost 38-47 vs Scotland |
| Round 2 | Won 36-20 vs Japan | Won 35-21 vs Wales |
| Round 3 | Lost 21-40 vs New Zealand | Lost 24-31 vs England |
Team News and the Main Uncertainty
Ireland will be without several established internationals, including Caelan Doris, Jack Crowley, Jack Conan and Garry Ringrose. Those absences affect important combinations in the back row, at out-half and in midfield. Dan Sheehan captains the squad, while Sam Prendergast’s fitness has been monitored following a wrist injury.
Argentina also have a major absence. Santiago Carreras has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, removing an influential attacking option. Farrell still has considerable depth available, but Ireland’s reshuffled combinations will need to find their rhythm against a physical Argentina side.
Tactical Analysis: Can Ireland Control Argentina’s Attack?
Ireland’s strongest route to victory lies in their territorial kicking, set-piece organisation and ability to maintain possession through multiple phases. Playing at the Aviva Stadium should help Farrell’s side establish control, particularly if their forwards win the breakdown battle. However, Argentina are capable of making opponents uncomfortable through aggressive carries and quick attacking transitions.
| Nations Championship statistics | Ireland | Argentina |
|---|---|---|
| Matches played | 3 | 3 |
| Wins | 2 | 1 |
| Points scored | 90 | 97 |
| Points conceded | 91 | 99 |
| Average points scored | 30.0 | 32.3 |
| Average points conceded | 30.3 | 33.0 |
| Matches over 53.5 points | 3/3 | 3/3 |
Both teams averaged more than 30 points scored per match during July, but also conceded heavily. All six of their combined Nations Championship fixtures finished above 53.5 total points.
That supports interest in the points markets, although Ireland’s changes in personnel and the gap since July make those figures less reliable as a guide to Friday’s final score. I expect Ireland to control more of the territory, but Argentina should create opportunities of their own.
Ireland vs Argentina: 1X2 Betting Odds
Ireland are clear favourites to begin their home Nations Championship campaign with a victory.
Ireland to win at 1.22 is my preferred conservative selection. Their home advantage, structured attacking approach and experience in tight Tests give them the edge. However, Argentina’s scoring record suggests the hosts may need to work hard throughout the full 80 minutes.
Ireland vs Argentina: Alternative Betting Odds
The handicap, total points and winning-margin markets provide alternatives to Ireland’s short outright price.
Indicative pre-match odds as of 4 November 2026. Prices may change before kick-off. Markets refer to 80 minutes plus stoppage time. Handicap and winning-margin settlement rules may differ.
